Interview with ČRo Jazz

Myself, Jen Hovorka and Ondřej Hauser we were guests in ČRo Jazz radio station for the interview of month August. The concept of this edition of the show was young musicians who identifies their style with hip hop, jazz, electronic music and soul.

We have had a talk about the connection of jazz and hip hop in my music, about record collecting and how these two things relates together. The host of the show picked up my quote to describe it: „I used fragments of jazz songs to produce hip-hop music before, so I collected those records. I wanted to have the original music physically at home, so I supported it.“

We also talked about Ab Origine album, which I described as groove music. I play primarily on drums on the album, but I also recorded fender pianos, guitars and synthesizers. The album also added players to melodic instruments (saxophone, flute, trumpet, violin). Although it was originally intended to release only in digital formats, I have decided to release it on vinyl, due to the participation of other musicians and the energy and work spended working on the record.
